It All Begins Here
A Love Story, Six Births, and the Unexpected Journey Into Birth Work
Today marks a special day for me and my husband—our 22nd wedding anniversary. As I reflect on the journey that began in 2004 when we said “I do,” I realize something beautiful.
My work as a doula…
my passion for birth…
my calling to support families…
It all began with a love story.
When we got married in 2004, we were simply starting our life together. We dreamed about the future, trusted God with our path, and had no idea where the journey would lead.
Before long, our family began to grow.
One baby.
Then another.
And another.
Over the years, I experienced six beautiful pregnancies and six beautiful births. Each one was different. Each one stretched me, shaped me, and showed me just how incredible the female body is and how sacred the process of bringing life into the world truly is.
Looking back now, I can see how God was quietly preparing my heart long before I ever knew what a doula was.
At the time, I was simply a mom having babies.
But something interesting started happening.
Friends began asking questions.
Then friends of friends.
Then women from church, neighbors, and people I barely knew.
They would ask me things like:
“What should I expect during labor?”
“Do I have options during birth?”
“How do I prepare?”
“What helped you through your births?”
The funny thing is—I didn’t feel like an expert at all.
But I loved the questions.
Every time someone asked me something about pregnancy or birth, I would go searching for answers. I started reading articles, researching evidence-based information, and learning about the many choices women actually have during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.
And I loved sharing what I learned.
Something inside me came alive when I helped another woman feel more confident, more informed, and more empowered about her birth.
What started as curiosity slowly grew into something deeper.
I began to realize that birth is more than just a medical event. It’s emotional. It’s physical. It’s spiritual. It’s transformational.
And women deserve to feel supported, educated, and empowered as they walk through it.
That realization eventually led me to take the next step.
In 2018, I enrolled in classes to become a trained birth doula. I wanted to deepen my knowledge and learn how to better support families during one of the most important moments of their lives.
That decision changed everything.
Since then, my work in the birth world has continued to grow in ways I never could have planned on my own.
Today, I have the privilege of supporting families through many stages of their journey, including:
Birth doula support
Postpartum support
Lactation support
Childbirth education
Bodywork for pregnancy and postpartum
One of the greatest joys in my work has also become mentoring new doulas. Through my doula intern program, I get to guide and support women who are just beginning their own journey into birth work.
Watching them discover their calling and grow in confidence is incredibly rewarding.
When I look back over the last 22 years, I can see how every step mattered.
Our marriage.
Our family.
Our six babies.
The questions people asked.
The late-night research.
The first class I signed up for.
None of it was random.
It was a path unfolding.
A love story that slowly grew into a calling.
And now, every time I walk alongside a family during pregnancy, birth, or postpartum, I’m reminded of where it all began.
With love.
With faith.
With family.
It all begins here.
Supporting Families Through Pregnancy, Birth, and Postpartum
Today, I have the honor of serving families by providing compassionate, evidence-based support through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum season. My goal is to help parents feel informed, confident, and supported every step of the way.
Whether through birth doula services, postpartum care, lactation support, bodywork, childbirth education, or mentoring new doulas, my heart is always the same: helping families step into this new chapter feeling empowered.
Because every birth story matters.
And sometimes the most beautiful journeys begin in the simplest way—
with love.
